Tenure Track Position in Creative Technology Management

The Underwood International College (UIC) of Yonsei University invites applications for a full time tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Creative Technology Management (CTM) to teach at the International Campus in Songdo, Incheon, located within the greater Seoul metropolitan region in South Korea.
Yonsei University’s UIC has recently constructed and opened “Design Factory Korea”, a large dynamic 100-person collaborative workspace available for research, teaching, and corporate programming. Design Factory Korea benefits from the larger Design Factory Global Network, spanning into 21 factories around the globe.
The successful candidate will have working knowledge of the underlying academic disciplines and professional practices involved in technology management in creative industries. Area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates who work on entrepreneurship, management, technology marketing, and/or technology valuation in creative industries. The candidate will develop and deliver core courses in Technology Management or similar classes in management disciplines related to creative industries.
We are particularly interested in those with strong teaching, professional, and research experience in one or more of the following areas:
Technology Management/Technology Strategy
Information Technology Strategy/Information Technology Management
Entrepreneurship/Venture Formation
Technology Valuation/Corporate Finance in Technology Firms
The successful candidate should have an advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Technology Management or the associated fields of Entrepreneurship or Management of Information Systems. As part of Yonsei University’s continuing effort to increase faculty diversity, we are accepting applications from both non-Korean and Korean (those with all overseas secondary education background preferred) citizens. The appointment will begin September 1, 2019 or March 1, 2020. Teaching responsibilities are 6 credit-hours (2 classes) per semester and the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate level in English.
Compensation includes competitive salary, health insurance and other benefits. Additionally, non-Korean citizens who do not reside currently in Korea are eligible for an application for housing subsidy (for up to 3 years), and a generous relocation and start-up package.

About the Creative Technology Management Program, Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Division
The Creative Technology Management (CTM) major offers a premium undergraduate education for aspiring technology management professionals. The curriculum consists of three major modules that bridge IT, creative industries, and management disciplines. The IT module covers the study of the effective design, analysis, delivery and use of information systems and communication technologies. The management module establishes a foundation in fundamental management practices, including technology strategy, business models, entrepreneurship, and the allocation of venture capital. Lastly, the creative industry module rigorously seeks to inculcate creativity in its graduates. CTM graduates will be able to pursue careers as global entrepreneurs, business managers, consultants, industry analysts, and policy makers in various creative technology industries.
